We installed a link ecu in our rockbuggy to run a 2.2L from a 90 legacy. Everything is wired correctly (we checked it a hundred times). Problem is when we turn the key on the fuel pump primes, and it sends a spark to the plugs, but when you try to start the engine there is no spark.
We check the crank sensor, and the cam sensor and they bith test fine. We had the ecu programmed before we bought it so there was no setup there.
The guy we bought it from said that with it hooked to the laptop when you crank it the rpms should go up to 100-200. The tach just stays at zero.
Anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible that your battery is marginal? If the load of the starter brings the battery voltage below the minimum needed for the Link to run you'd get this effect.
Also, dumb question -- I'd guess you're not using an ignition switch from a car, right? Is the ECU actually being powered while the engine's cranking (if you were using a car's ignition switch and accidentally powered the ECU off Accessory instead of On that would happen).

what sensors are you using, and have going back to the Link?
Put the entire list of sensors you have up. I'm some ideas, but need to know what has been modified and what is pretty much the stock setup.

Alright we figured it out!
1. The timing belt was put on wrong and the crank sensor and the cam sensor were to far out of wack to read. Fixed that.
2. When trying to start it all it would do was backfire real bad. Called the guy we bought it from and it turns out he told us to hook the ignitor up wrong, so we fixed that!
Now it runs great!
Thanks for the help guys.
