Got the all alluminum Saab IC

Gonna try to polish it up a bit more and start fitting it tomorrow. Cant wait, I should have the engine running this weekend for the first time since the rebuild.

he was asking 40 but I just gave him 50 because I know they are rare and I probably wouldn't find one anywhere else. I will eventually get the FMIC but I figured it would be good to get this one in so the car can at leaste run for now.

I was thinking today of mounting the IC up front. Do you guys think its too small and the piping would create way too much lag?

Hi Mike,

good to hear you got the IC. I was away for the whole week with no internet access. You could conceivable mount it in the front. But the piping would be alot of work. Do you plan on getting a larger scoop?

Using it as a front mount might be more trouble then it's worth. The whole reason that the Saab 900 I/C is so popular is because of the ease at which it mounts as a TMIC. I think a front mount would be sweet but I'd get a I/C that's made to be up front if you're going to go through the trouble of fabing plumbing for it. Just my .02 . :)

the saab intercooler is a front mount in the saab. well front side mount. But ya its gonna be tough fabing up piping to get in a legacy.

True, it is a front/side mount in the Saab but the Saabs engine is also in backwards. ;) The Eclispe/Talon turbos have theirs as a front/side mount too don't they?

Anyways, when I say 'one that's made to be up there' I mean a true, after market front mount. :)
