How much of a lift do you need? Do you need it to be well done (i.e. retaining decent performance on-road) or do you just want a little more height?
You could just put rubber spacers or install those hold-them-open clamps in your springs; you can get them at the auto parts store for a couple dollars. You lift your car up so the springs stretch, install these things (so they're very snug), and then let the car back down. The springs shouldn't be able to compress all the way then.
Or you could get the springs and struts from a wrecked Outback or something and swap them in...
