A) Triton V8 F150's arent fast. Mid 16's.
B) GPGT's aren't fast. Low 16's.

You could beat both stock.

Also, the AC compressor turns off at WOT. My neighbor did his dyno run with the AC on full-blast. Still put 175hp and 190lb-ft to the ground. Same as the second run with the AC off.

Hardy and Matt - You've never seen Karate Kid? Mr. Miagi never enters a fight he knows he can't win.

I take solice in the fact that most cars that could beat me in the dry, would lose to me in the rain or snow.

the first and recent eclipses i raced were both non turbos, i heard the auto on the first one, then i remembered that the gsx's only came with 5 spds, and i raced a 95 tonight and beat it by two car lengths by the time we hit 50 so i know it was just a gs. im going to go up against my friends 92 talon tsi and see how mine holds up. since i last posted i also beat a cherokee sport. and guess what, i didnt loose my license for wreckless driving.........yet

Wow.

I suppose I can remember being a young reckless kid in my 92 GTI. I did a lot of stupid stuff then. Probably like you do now.

One day, I realized, the odds were stacking up against me. It becomes a matter of when, not if.

Somebody else will always have a faster car, a better handling, better braking cornering machine. The responsable thing for yourself, and the rest of your community, is to accept that, and just enjoy the ride.

I can honestly say I don't race, but am kinda curious about how fast my legacy would stand up to some cars around here. I know it's pretty quick... but I'm not about to go honking at people or revving my engine looking to the guy next to me like we're in a commercial....

I'll race, if I ever get the chance.
Luckily I'm in a small town where not much traffic is, so I may never get the chance.

Part of the reason I'm keeping my car as a sleeper is to avoid ricers so I can just relax and enjoy my car as I want without harassment from morons who can't drive and cops. I want it to match the car in my novels and to have something just a little bit special that I could occasionally bring to the track if I so feel the need.

There were always morons racing, but I think the current crop is much worse than it was when I was in high school. Maybe they have to be bigger a-holes to make up for their lack of balls (both car and personal). I also grew up in the consumerist-rejecting (well somewhat) alternative-rock days and I think the more superficial higher-consumerist proud-to-be-a-poser attitude and dubious role models/poster boys of today serve to amplify the problem by encouraging such stupidity to a level I could never have imagined in the days when the dick wads drove five-point-slows.

street racing is not bad when 1. you are not caught!! 2. night or early morning times with few people on the road. 3. no sharp turns ( since some just can't handle it) 4. you know when to stop b/c you are being dangerous) In my legacy the honda's, neons, cavilers, escorts, integras ( depends on mods as to how well i could hold them off or stay close) etc would be dumbfounded when i left them or stayed real close. In my sti no one would pull beside me at a light, from modified hondas (there are a shit load around me) a 5.0, to some other "nice" cars. They would just stay behind me even if the other lane was open at a light or just driving the speed limit cruisin. I have only had 2 or 3 try anything one was an older guy in a s2000 with me at a stop and him going prob atleast 15mph when the light turned he got to my back door and that was it till we hit a bit over speed limit i slowed down and he did too and slowly passed just smiling. I figered he was curious how he could hold up. Another was a modified integra with me at a stop and he going 15-20mph tried to do a quick pass since it went from 2-1 lanes after the light and i hate people who do that so i left him and then slowed to speed limit once it went to one lane. See i don't go insanly fast and as of yet have yet to be pulled ( or cop try to pull me over) for speeding or racing. There are dumb kids driving way to reckless and they are asking for it in my opinion but if you are smart then it is just a nice thrill and informative as to your car and theirs.

Well lets see, take a look at this link:
http://www.wreckedexotics.com/newphotos ... d349.shtml

They weren't caught (not by the cops anyway)
it was night
road looks pretty straight to me
I guess they fail the last one.

the point is, street racing is bad :)

yeah it is bad to do not sure what i was thinking before :? . I just know when i did/ do i feel in control of the car and the situation. I belive i am a fairly decent driver and ready for random things to happen. I once was driving my brothers svx in NY and we were following my one of my other brothers jeep going 45-60mph after crossing over a bridge ( gothals (prob wrong spelling)) when a car pulled out from the concrete meddian right behind my brother i had to slam the brakes and i slid the car completly sideways then straightend it out with out a scratch and a faster heart rate. That is one example of what i have been through and reacted i know shit can happen and i will not always be able to miss the dumb people / deer or whatever. Also i am not saying it as a good thing to do. With the pic of the car in the guardrail they must have had that car maxed to have it go thru the car like that and that is a good example of why street racing is a very bad thing to do.

One reason slow cars are fun - it's a drag race everytime you get on the highway yet there's no fear of getting caught.
