Power steering

Does anyone know if the power steering pump in a '91 legacy turbo gives any obvious warning signs before it fails?

generally it's bearing noise. Grinding or squeaking from the pump.

ditto.....mine made noises before it crapped out. If you take the belts off you can turn it by hand and feel if it's grinding, or not turning very well.

Ahh, I hadn't thought to do that. I'm beginning to think it's the AC. I might pull the whole thing out.
