How to get the stock antenna off..

Post by LegacyLS90 »

Does anyone know how or have any tips on how to get the stock antenna off? Personally, i think it's ugly. I have a sunroof so it's on the back drivers side by the trunk lid. I was thinking about putting a flexible antenna on, so I need to know how to take this one off.

Actually, it's broke, the motor went out on it quite some time ago. But I still want to get it off because i'm putting in a new one. I'll probably end up having it done professionally.

If you want to remove it, it should unscrew from the top side.....you'll need to get behind the panels and such in the trunk as well to pull the motor and pull everything out

I had to replace my antenna on my car. It's not very hard there was two screws that held it on underneath the motor. There might be something that holds it on the top side of the antenna but I didn't have anything. I have some pictures if anyone can host them. The antenna was only 7.99 at a local car parts store. It lookes much better than the power antenna.

NeuwanD. I still have the antenna motor but it is missing the telescoping antenna but it works. If your are interested let me know.

Thanks. I just bought a little 'stubby' antenna to put in its place. I dont intend on using the motor anyway because it's been broken for quite some time :? . But some pics would be nice.
