1993 AWD L MT with 199? AT Turbo engine?

Post by DeusExMachina »

My friend is coming into buying a 1993 Legacy L that he found. It was listed as a Sport Sedan, but the person didn't know what they were talking about. But he can get it cheap enough that he plans on buying it anyway.

In a nearby junkyard, he spotted a complete Legacy Sport Wagon, doesn't know of the year. He wants to take the ECU and the engine from that junkyard Legacy and swap it into the L.

One snag we were thinking of, is the engine or the ECU in the automatic any different, or is it all plug and play? Is the wiring in the L different?

Thanks!

It should all be plug and play. Just have to add ~6 wires to the car and swap out the engine harness.

And a flywheel. I'm actually doing the same conversion (very slowly).
