my parents own a resturant that i work at part time for money. i was eating dinner in the back when i heard loud reving in the parking lot. the lot is pretty big and good to do doughnuts in and the car i was hearing sounded pretty good so i went to go check it out. turns out it was a couple of rich kids in a wrx doin doughnuts back there. well after about 20 spins ( it was raining ) they stop and pop the hood to check out the glowing turbo. i go over to check the car out and see if it has any mods where i could take the oem parts for my car when i spot a trumpet bov. i ask him " are you runnin that bov 50/50" he just looks at me funny and asks in a stuned voice "50/50???" i respond "yeah half aptmosphere half recirc." he looked at me funny again and looked over to his friend confused finaly gaining his bearings says "oh its just venting to air." hearing him say that i asked if he was running a stand alone to combat the bad idle and such and he just says " no it runs perfect except it has worse lag now and its crap off the line since i put it in." at that point i wasn't willing to try to convince him that the problem was his bov and he went to leave. i could just feel my blood pressure go up and stay for the rest of the night.

i feel better now though.

Yeah back in the day Subarus never would've been riced, but today I saw a WRX with STI appendages and Altezzas [gasp in horror]. I knew it was inevitable and you probably all have seen it before but rice stuff thankfully trickles up here somewhat slowly (I'd bet I'd see more in the poorer communities around, but I haven't come to go for prostitutes yet).

Bastards took all the fun out of Art Cars too as now its tough to discern rice from ironic statement. There aren't many options left but a skyblue K-Car with clouds painted all over and Snoopy chasing the Red Baron or the tired themes that go with a hearse. Fake race car themes are out, military themes are no good, etc. Bastards, the lot of 'em.

I think the snoopy K-car theme sounds cool. Make it a 2.2T K-car and have it be the red baron plane though and jack it up on boost. Put fake machine guns out the front and a big site on the hood. It would scare people. hehe

That's funny as I had a gun sight and fake machine guns on my '84 wagon (had to remove the guns, but replaced them with teeth). I was originally going with an old warbird theme, but changed to a fake race car because it was so damn slow and I hung around with all muscle car people. Nowadays people would think it was serious.

A friend of mine had a K-car and was going to transplant a Daytona turbo plant into it and keep everything externally stock down to the hubcaps, but never ended up getting around to it.

That's what sucks about the scene today. People that you think are joking are actually serious (a la `84 Honda Accord I saw the other day with chrome American Racing wheels and white leather interior ), and people you think are serious are actually joking (a la `78 Volvo wagon with a T3/T4 turbo transplant )
