Burned out brake light

Post by Naythn »

I am currently down a brake light. Is this a bulb replacement, or do I need an entire new rear light assembly? Also, how do I switch out the light? (1990 wagon, BTW)
Thanks.

WAgon I couldnt tell ya, exactly how to switch it, but I'm sure your owners manual could :D But yeah, you should be able to just change the bulb, and be on your way. I think theres some panel you open behind the light, and then itll be locked in by twisting the plastic light housing. Untwist that, and remove the bulb, replace and put back together. Course I could be wrong.

THAWA's right. The bulb's a kind of odd wedge-base bulb; I don't remember what kind, but after you pull the burnt-out bulb out you can take it to the auto parts store for a replacement.

You should replace all the bulbs in the assembly, since if one's gone the others can't be far behind.

Ok, thanks for your help. I'll try to get those suckers out. Then maybe that annoying warning light will go away :)
