I was window shopping on ebay and I saw this:
td05 turbo
D
As for his claims, well, with the mods, sure.
And coming out of nz, it might be what some of us are looking for.
But not being a turbo guru, I have no clue.
Anyone, Buehler, anyone?

Hmm, that part number (14412AA091) matches up to the TD05H-16G turbo that 93-96 WRX sedans/coupes had from the factory.
From the factory, the turbo came with a 90-degree elbow on its compressor inlet, but it looks like this one's been modified to have a straight inlet like later model turbos. That makes it match the intake tubing for newer Subaru turbo engines, but not for early ones, like ours. It'd take some massaging (or un-massaging) to fit.
The compressor outlet is pointed in the same direction as those on all turbos for EJ-series engines, except for the North American EJ22T. It's clocked a little further downwards so it's nearly horizontal instead of angled upwards.
The coolant and oil lines are somewhat different, too, but they can be dealt with. Maybe they already have been somewhat dealt with.
I dunno anything about the upgraded compressor wheel, but it would appear that the compressor housing is the original one, though it may have been modified on the inside (it certainly was modified on the outside).
It seems odd that he had it on his 96 WRX Wagon... I thought in 1996 they were still using the 90-degree compressor inlet. Maybe that was different in different markets though.
