New Subie?

Post by kastrix »

I'm in the market for a new car. A second car :-)

I love my subaru deeply so i want another one. I have heard that after 94 they went to shit. Is that true for the most part?

I was thinking a 98 2.5 gt sedan? I really like the looks of those with the red outside and black leather.

ANy other options? I'd like to be under 10 grand.

Went to shit? No. Decreased slightly in quality? Yeah a bit. Well, 95's are still okay, but the introduction of the 2.5 was where the problems started I'm afraid :( Which is why...

...I wouldn't recommend that. The 96-98 2.5's are DOHC, which are the notorious headgasket-blowers.

I say find another BC/BF Legacy and just fix it up. It'll be as reliable as the new stuff, but cheaper :)

You could probably also get an EJ22 non-GT and add the GT parts as I've seen a few and it may be cheaper, though I think the interior is nicer in the GTs.
