Hey guys....had the headgaskets replaced and machined on friday and the check engine light is now on...
painstakingly I was able to locate and connect the black connecters and the ECU is pulling code 32 which is the O2 sensor...
Now my question is could this have been caused by them working on my car and not hooking something up correctly or should I just assume some really crappy timing ... (as in the check engine light came on seconds after leaving the place...and I cleared the ECU and it still came back on so it wasn't an old code)
Quick responses would be great....this cars driving to MI in two days
Plus could this be why I have been having terrible gas millage???...I mean less then 20 it seems.

Maybe the connector isnt plugged in? If it is though you should check the o2 sensor itself. A search should yield the info you need. It could be why but remember brand new these cars only got 20 mpg, tack on 15 years and that mileage sounds about normal.

First of all ....THANK GOD FOR YOU... you correctly identified my headgasket prob and you responded so quickly to this...
is there anyway I can see if it isn't plugged in???...if so where to look?
it seems WAY too odd that this happened seconds after this fix..
btw I get around 30 usuallyon the highway and today was only 20 on the highway half tank and only 130 miles to show for it ( all the miles have been since after the fix)

It's easy enough to see if you look for it on the passenger side. Alternatively, you can squeeze underneath and check it if you're somewhat thin (I can). It's before the cat on the upipe (or is it actually on the cat -it's late; brain not working so good); it's pretty simple looking, very "pluglike" in appearence with 2 wires in a jacket running up underneath the intake manifold. I think the wires are red and white if memory serves me correctly.

I thought there were 3 wires coming out of it... Also, just look for the connector... it should be clipped to the passanger side of the transmission right near the differential oil dipstick... More than likely, you will see two connectors that are not connected to each other.
It is very possible that they forgot to hook the sensor up since they had to drop the exhaust to get the heads out.
And that is probably the reason why your gas mileage went down.

FWIW, I unplugged my O2 sensor for a tank and got 15.01MPG in the city instead of my usual 16.5 to 17.
