So... I ordered my brakes...

So... I ordered my brakes...

Post by LaureltheQueen »

Well, sort of. The dealership had oodles of rotors in stock, so I grabbed a pair of front rotors, and talked to Jamie, apparently EBC makes a ceramic red pad for the T legs, so I figured I'd at least try it out, it's a new formulation, and she has nothing but good things to say about them(she IS sponsored by them though). I'll give you my opinion of them as soon as they come in. She got the pads ordered the morning of Monday the 9th, as we spoke on friday, after her supplier had gone home, and I still haven't recieved them, she's emailed the guy(EBC supplier) and hasnt heard back, but apparently he sent them out. I wouldnt be so anxious about getting those pads and rotors onto my car, but my old pads no longer exist. This happened monday morning on my way to work, it's now just the shims rubbing against the rotors. Now this wouldnt be a big deal, if I had my pads, but at this point, my car hasnt moved in over a week, and I'm getting a bit antsy. I've been driving my roommate's base model automatic RSX with a spoiler(tasteful, but big, gets attention) which is killing me slowly. I long for my kidney jarring suspension, my side hugging wrx seats, my mp3 player, the sound of my turbo spooling up on cold mornings, and torque, but most of all, I miss the all wheel drive, being able to get the back end to come loose or at least squeal a bit around corners. This is turning into a sappy "I miss my subaru" post, but oh well. I DO!!!! I havent been able to think of anything other than what my next mod is, and how it'll look, and what it'll do for the driving experience. I think i'm going crazy.

See if you can ghet the rotors cryo-treated locally for cheap - they'll last forever.

Eh, you probably don't need them anyway with the way you girls drive.

IIRC, josh has a link on his website of vendors, and i think a list of his mods includes cryo treating... ask him, but yeah, orting might work.. just be careful out there... hehe.

you'll be on the road soon.

I think the car got angry that she wasnt getting any attention the week and a half that I wasnt driving it, and slit her wrists.

I can get remanned axles from subaru for a hundred bucks a pop, and have my friend do it, I dont like doing cv joints

Latex gloves suck anyways. You should find a big box of nitrile gloves. They're a thousand times more durable.

the sides and hub part of my OEM rotors are painted.

I dont really like using gloves, because all pairs of mechanics gloves are a bit big on me, so i lose feeling, and rubber gloves make my hands sweat
