Best posters ever :)

Post by BAC5.2 »

Did some Dorm Room Decorating and got some posters on the walls.

First is the WRX poster I got from the SEMA show. It's the BFGoodrich ad. It says "How to keep a WRX glued to the road" and it has an orange WRX in the sunset, it's sweet.

I picked up a Mallrats (one of my favorite movies ever) poster:

Image

I also got this poster from Trainspotting...

If you can't read it, it says:

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life.

I need more stuff though. Any ideas?

Those are both good movies and good posters.

Sophomore year my desk faced away from the door in my dorm room, so I mounted an 80s Subaru side view mirror to a pillar near my desk. Does that kind of stuff count?

Also, it can be really nice to hook up a lot of clear Christmas lights to a dimmer. If you cover one wall with it, it provides a really nice gentle light to the room.

Or build your own mood lamps. I have posters from the Rennsport Reunion, Monterey Historics, Pebble Beach Concours, a framed picture from The Crow, and a blown up Cannibal Corpse 'Eaten Back to Life' album cover with my face on the zombie eating its intestine (an old name plaque for a review at CCS) in the living room. My bedroom has the 1993 Impreza rally debut poster and one from 1998.

Thanks man, it's a work in progress. I moved in on Sunday, and my girlfriend came up to visit yesterday + night, so we stayed at a hotel. I still have to take the trash out, lol. I've got a lot of it!

Those green bags sitting next to the Pringles, are those the quintessential breakfast, lunch and dinner items of the American college student??

Not green, more of an Amber ;)

Yes, the green bags next to the pringles are the infamous 10-for-$1 food :). It worries me that I enjoy so much, food so cheap. I'm also rockin the Easy Mac :)

Not enough stickers, ever. It's the fridge, it's supposed to be riced up.

That drinking poster is hilarious. You sure like Garorade dude. Do you like the gum? I sure do. That beer sure looks yummy but I've never heard of it before.

Ahhh the days of University... Those were some fun times.

I remember the posters we had, my roomate and I.

1 was a 16ft x 10ft 4 section billboard poster, we got it from a guy who owned a billboard company it was a giant beer bottle that fit on the entire ceiling of our dorm room, it was just the bottom too, no neck... lotsa comments on that one.

And our parts banner. read parts parts parts, so we cut up the P and turned it to rread farts farts farts... ah the fun. hehehe

I just picked up a pint glass, so I'll take a picture of the darkness of the brew in a few minutes.

Scott - It's really really good beer. One of my favorites. I DO like Gatorade and the gum is surprisingly good (I really like the fruit punch flavor).

I highly suggest picking up a case of Amber Bock. It's wicked good.

Where did you get the glass? I've been looking for ones like that because they're so easy to clean and the thick glass is tough and feels cool. I have some 26 oz bar glasses that are great, but I could use some smaller stuff.

Amber Bock's pretty good, too. Ever try Negra Modello? I like this Abby beer I've got called Ommegang - it's dark, not bitter, very smooth.

That's why I like Amber Bock, it's smooth without being bitter.

I got the glass at my campus book store. If you want one or two, let me know. I can bring them to the F&S for you. They are pretty weighty, real pub style. Only downside is that they say "Shepherd University" on them.

$6 each, 16 ounces (that's a full 12oz Amber Bock in that glass).
