loose rear end
Has anybody with a wagon ever have a problem with the rear end feeling like its about to slide out from under you? When I open it up on a straight away and go to shift gears I feel like I am driving a rear wheel drive that is spinning the wheels and is real loose and almost out of control! I was wondering if it might have something to do with the rear half shafts. I have never replaced them and only rebuilt them twice. Is it possible that there might be play inside the bearing that might make it act that way? It also does it going around turns left or right.

Sounds like you have got a toe problem. Probably toeing out under load.
Constantly changing toe, even to the extent of 1/8", will completely change how the car handles.

You can set it up so it ACTS like a RWD car, but you'll have that pesky excess traction problem
Toe out the rear 1/8" and 1/16" out up front. 1.5 degrees of camber up front and .75 degrees out back. 20mm rear sway bar and a stock 18mm front bar. You should be able to power-on oversteer if you've got the power to get it moving.
