Well, belt tension is a sloppy way of controlling max boost, but it does work.
I noticed that my boost had dropped from 8-10 to 4-5 so I tightened up the belt, and then went just a bit more for measure. I had to run an errand and on a section of highway of course floored it. Started knocking real bad so I started fluttering the clutch to see if it would go away but it wouldnt. Then I glanced down at the boost gauge.
12 psi!
I let go of the gas to say the least.
It turns out, and makes sense, that the higher the boost, the harder it is to turn the compressor. So while I may have been making 8-10 lbs of boost for the last 6 days, the belt was always slipping a little. So the moment I tightened it up to where it really should be ie no slipping, FULL boost occurred.
I think I will "detune" it by loosening the belt. Better low boost than blown engine. I get no knock at 5ish psi, sometimes knock at 10 psi. Full on knock at 12.
Please Santa, bring me an aftermarket ECU!
12 psi plus NA ecu = ACCKKKK!

You can use the torque chip www.torquechip.com to add additional fuel and keep timing in check.
