idiot driver

Post by Flip_x »

OMG i was not having a good day today. first my alt. died on me on the parking lot. but i got it started for a moment. then when i was waiting for this one car to park so i can go some lady backed up into me i was directly behind her and she said she didnt see me or hear my horn. anyways it cost almost $600 to get a new fender and paint on it and blend it with the door. anyways i got it popped out and it looks almost perfect.

Excecpt the minor scratches. anyways waiting for my claim to open and just take cash. and fix it later or find one the same color in the junk yard. oh and i did a alt replance pretty quick 30 min or less. because i had to wait for my parents to get the other car so i can pick up an alt.

Fun day aint it.

wow. Proper use of punctuation would be helpful in this post.

Let me make sure I got this correct... Your alternator died, but then your car magically restarted and ran, then you got backed into, the woman did not see or hear your horn, I'm assuming you got her insurance information, and then a quote for $600. You popped the dent out, and went home to fix your alternator. You'll probably replace the fender with a junkyard one, and pocket the rest of the dough?

That's sucky man.

Why is it that people are always backing and running into BC/BF's?! I never hear about anyone here on the bbs saying " I screwed up today, I wasn't paying attention and I ran into somebody". It's always " So my co-worker was leaving and backed into my car", or " Some guy had a seizure and hit my parked car", or "I left my doors unlocked and a kid got in my car and knocked it out of gear and it rolled down a hill and hit parked cars" ! I think the rest of the world is jealous and is after us, watch your backs, there could be a jealous bastard just waiting to run into your beautiful BC/BF!

it's funny but ever since I got my car I haven't had nearly as much bird shit on it as my last one *knocks on wood*

But I totally agree with you matt, there has to be something about our cars that just drives people insane subconsiously and makes them want to cause as much damage as possible. The worst part is, it sounds like most of the damage is happening when the cars are parked!

i screwed up today. (not today but back in october) a lady cut me off wich pissed me off so i tailed her pretty hard wich in turn pissed her off so she slamed on her brakes and i hit her. i didnt have enough to fix it properly ($2500) so a paid a guy to fix it as much a possible with junk yard parts. long story short i now have 2 gaps between my bumper and hood plus a silver hood.

june 17th i was trying to monkey around cars when i was slightly buzzed so i could wash mine(had been up all night, and had driven on a dirt road that night, before i started drinking) I scraped up against my mom's beetle, causing tiny scratches on hers, and some small scratches on mine, and a cracked taillight.

Some huge raven took a shit on my car the other day, then i was almost hit by some idiot in a newer legacy yesterday. Double left turn onto the onramp for I25 and they try to merge right on top of me just after finishing the turn. I had to slam on the breaks didnt bother with the horn. but they were all the way over if i hadnt locked up the good breaks on my turb leg. i would have been replacing the fenders and getting it repainted.

oh oh, sorry bout the double post, i screwed up with my last legacy. I was really drunk and decided to go for a short drive down this gravel road in front of my friends house in nebraska in the country. a rock got in the bead of the tire and it went flat and then the world really started spinning. Luckily i just broke the exhaust and had to fix the flat tire. Car sounded pretty beefy for a while tho :|

I prefer the bird pooping stories.

I forgot and left my car under the "pigeon pole" To say I had to wash my car was an understatement. My buddy actually almost cut himself on that "piece of metal sticking up" that was on the INSIDE of the car. Dont leave the windows down under the "pigeon pole"!

Actually, the night I made a few drunken posts on here, I had someone else take me home, but the scary part was, he wasn't any better than I was. He actually puked, I didn't... I was kinda scared on the ride home, but if I were sober, I'da been much more scared I'm sure.

why you guys gotta hate on it?
Its a matter of personal choice, similar to the choice of drinking in general. Myself, i enjoy a beer/drink/toke as much as the next guy, but i always make sure i'm well enough to get home... is that too hard for some of you? I mean, you DO build a tolerance sooner or later, and at any given time, there are soooo many people on the road who drive drunk/stoned/whathaveyou.. so it's just a matter of whether or not you trust yourself enough to do it.. perhaps i can do what some people don't.. i'm not sure, i've never taken a poll on it. But what's strange is that i WILL stand behind the "I'm a better driver stoned than sober." statement. This is only beucase all the damage that has occurred on my car has been done when i've been mostly high. I think it's starting to become a way of life... the point to all of it is this: always make sure you can get home. period. if you think you're gonna get THAT drunk, then stay, or arrange a ride, pretty simple. just party safe, kids, that's all i ask.

You really think and believe that just because everyone else is doing it, it's alright for you to do it? Also I dont follow your reasoning that the fact that since you create more damage when under the influence that makes you a better driver while under the influence. Noone is a better driver under any influence. You might THINK you are, but you aren't. I'm not against anyone drinking. You want to do something to your body, do it. I could care less. But when you control a 3000 lb machine with a drug imparing your judgement, that's when I get angry. Sure you might have been on a deserted road, I dunno. It might have been 2 AM, I dunno, but there's always a chance there'd be someone else on the road. I mean, if you know about the road there's others that know about it aswell.

I'm shocked. I really don't know what to say. I can't believe people KNOW the consequences of driving impaired (no licensed driver can escape from the lectures of it), admit that they do it proudly, and go so far as to say they drive better impaired...

And some of you people need to look up the meaning of the phrase "non sequitur"

A drunk driver had better hope they die if I can crawl from my car or if they hit someone I love. No apathetic police force will save them from what I'd do. No body, no crime.
