anybody interested in meeting up... details inside

Post by 95LAWD »

Just out of curiosity, not that some cars really should, but if someone wanted to, I'm curious to know how different the front ends of the gen I and gen II legacys really are. if anybody is near me (scio/albany, or) and wouldn't mind spending a day measuring, and possibly test fitting (no permanent modifications!!!) fenders, ect. I think it would be way awesome just to check.

Not that I'd put gen I stuff on my gen II, but you know, I wonder what it would look like to get a gen I with the gen II hood/fenders/bumper and lights.

And as I've said before, any information I find about body piece swapping between various subarus, should never be used on turbo legacys! they deserve their stockness lol!

btw - friday is my day off. I may go to PAP to play with body pieces for a couple hours, they may not mind me just playing in the j/y. this will be sooo much fun. I'm probably nuts to some people.

that's interesting, but doesn't tell me much on Gen I and Gen II swapping. (ie: '89-'94 and '95-'99) since we know you *can* get the '92-'94 hood/fenders/lights/grill stuff on the older gen I's, then you could theorize that the later Gen I's, if you could manage to work all the gen II stuff in, would work as well.

oh.....I thought you referring to the 90-91's vs. 92-94.

I doubt much if any body stuff from the first gen legacies will swap to second.

Laurel looked into this with some depth. You'd have to do some shaving and filling I believe to make things line up properly. Otherwise, most things (like front clip sheetmetal) I think would pretty much bolt right on.
