is this an electic transmission problem?

i bought a 90 ls legacy automatic awd . first off there is no reverse. whene i put in reverse the lights come on but i hear nothing the motor just revese up. when in drive it goes real slow thro the gears untill you press the gas to about 3k and then it picks up like it should and shifts perfect . it dosnt slip out of any gears at all. i think it has something to do with the electronics beacse the speedo isn`t working and cruise isn`t working and when i press the vents and ac they com on some times put not all the time. what do you think? this is just a parts car but i was going to save this tranny for my other car if i can get it to work.
