H2O Obsession

Post by Yukonart »

Been drinking a minimum of 128 oz of water every day for the last week or so. . . already lost 5 pounds.

Noted side-effects:

1. Waking up feeling more refreshed every morning, depite lack of sleep
2. I pee a lot
3. Improved stamina
4. I feel more alert
5. Had a few mixed drinks the other night, woke up with ZERO side-effects
6. Not as hungry, so eating far less than usual (see first sentence)
7. I drink less soda (down to about 1-2 cans per day. . .tops)
8. It's more or less free, so I'm not spending as much to hydrate

I'm really loving water, now. Considering I'll be hitting the gym HARDCORE starting next week, I'm glad I'm in this new habit.

You've lost weight because of water. You pee, you lose weight. Water weight is accountable for a significant portion of your body weight.

If you drink a lot of water, your body becomes acclimated to it, and doesn't store as much.

It's good to be drinking water man! I am on a HUGE tea kick now. I've got a gallon of Sweet Tea in the fridge calling my name... I think I'll go drink the rest of it right now....

That, and most-often the source of people eating when they don't need to comes from feeling hungry. . . when they're actually dehydrated.

I expected some weight loss from this. . . just not so much in the first 10 days or so.

Yeah, I drink a lot of water. As Phil said, though, your body does get accustomed to it, so if you work out you will need to drink more than before. Just something to think about. I had to get another bottle cage for my bike.

I also swear by green tea. My favorites are from St. Dalfour.

I love looking through this thread and seeing my junk in peoples' sigs. Too bad it's some of the cruder things I've said. What? Nobody wanted to quote anything from the astrophysics discussions?! :)

But Steve, we love your random quips and quotes about things that can, quite easily, be taken out of context!

Green Tea is the shit. I'm all about Sobe, or a bigass jug of it from Sheetz or Food Lion. Turkey Hill is also really good.

I drink so much tea, I'm surprised I don't pee brown.

Green tea doesn't dehydrate you... it's actually really good for you in terms of nutritional content. It's got a lot of salt in it, to replace salts you lose when sweating and such. It deyhydrates you as much as Gatoraid does.

It's good for the prostate too. That's important for old guys like Art...

I got inspired and drank a liter of water before my "breakfast" of black tea. I've since peed 4 times. I dont have time for that

Yeah, thats a hella amount of water... But I'm thinking I'm going to try it. I'm constantly drymouthed lately, and could stand to loose a few pounds.

Although I don't know if I like the idea of running to the toilet every 30 minutes.....
