Where to find a SINGLE gauge pod that mounts on the A-pillar

Post by syphon »

Hey all

I'm looking to get a boost gauge mounted on my A-Pillar of my '93 turbo legacy, really low, near the dash. I only want one gauge, so all the double and triple gauge pods are out of the question.

That's a gauge for an imprezza, but it's almost exactly what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of something similar for our cars? I'd get that one, but I want to see if I can find one made for my car beforehand.

Thanks in advance!

The GC chassis is pretty similar to ours, so that one might fit.

But I think other people have had success using A-pillar pods meant for certain years of Honda CRX... Try doing a search for "crx and gauge*" to find the info.

I used the Autometer mounting "cup" and put it on my dash in the center of the tach.

I don't like Pillar pods. They attract to much attention, and are basically advertising.

I like having a BIT of stealth, even though when you look in my window everything is lit up like a friggin circus.

Ok, we found a place to mount the gauge.

What do you guys recommend for a wire to tap for the light on the gauge? Any easy access wires that are for the dash lights or something? Something so that the gauge is lit up only when the lights are on?

We originally tapped the ILUMA fuse on the fuse box (shoved the wire in with the fuse), but it caused the fuse to blow! Not having dashlights isnt a good idea.

Yep, I made a cool plug-and-play adapter for my ash tray light.

I don't use the ashtray light anyways (and now, even less since the tray is occupied by something else :))

I have an Ash Tray light?!? I'll have to look in to that :-) I never saw one when I replaced the stereo.

I used the cigarette lighter light. Even closer than the ashtray light, albeit only by a few inches.

you're fired. I'll show you sometime. The one in my 91 when out during my "green dash lights are bad" phase, but i think my 92's still works
