05 legacy turbo brake upgrade

Post by dscoobydoo »

I was just reading up on Nabisco about the 05 legacy brake upgrade.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=626403

Seems better than the H6 because the rears are vented. If you do the fronts, it will require the 17 inch wheels.

But you can do the rears and keep 16 inchers.
Now, how about that upgrade and skip the bias valve?

That would even it out pretty good.
I myself like to keep my 16 inch wheels.

SO, if you did the wrx fronts and legacy 05 rears you would have 11.4 all the way around.

Oh yea, I had meant to mention this.

The 05 Legacy brakes DO bolt up. I checked it out on my buddies 05 GT, and everything looks copesetic.

When I get my tires mounted, I'm gonna swing by his place again and toss my wheels on his car to check clearances. I'm hoping the spokes of the SubZero's will clear the calipers. His new 5Zigen's barely clear them.

This is the eventual upgrade path I want to go with. $1100 for both ends is a pretty good deal. Swap on the BF prop valve, and the car will stop like a friggin GEM!

Hey, Phil . . . if the Sub Zeros are WRX-fitment offset-wise, I think you're in business.

Not sure what the 05 legacy gt has, but it's probably similar to the B4 rear setup in Japan, which is what I'll be doing to mine shortly. I just need to clean up the calipers, get rotors & pads.

Sweet, I'll be all over this mod just as soon as I get a new motor in, new engine and tranny mounts, new shifter bushings, a new clutch, fueling upgrades and uh, damn, who am I kidding? I won't be doing this anytime soon even though I'd love to. :(

Josh - The 05GT rears are very similar to the JDM B4 rear brakes. Actually, they are identical in size specs (though not sure about caliper dimensions).

Yeah, this would be sweet... maybe one day I'll be wealthy enough to try it.

Personally I could afford the WRX front upgrade and the 05 rear upgrade. ( Not at the same time though)

That would do better in pushing bias to the rear.

That and I can keep my wheels.

But I have to agree with you guys, just another mod to add to the list.
