The car already has a system that circulates coolant after shut off so you really don't need one.

I wouldn't just kill it after beating the bag out of it, but if you drive sanely for a few miles or so you should be fine. It doesn't hurt much to let it idle, but it's unnecessary. This from the guy who always warms his car up for about a minute before taking off. I highly recommend synthetic oil, too, if you don't use it already.

Once you mod the cooling system, like I did. A turbo timer becomes a saftey measure.
I only use it when I am leaving the car in a responsible place (I never use it on a hill or anything), and only really when I run really hard, then have to stop the car immediately (like going to the store or something).
I also plan to use it to warm up the car when it's cold so I can lock the car and have it still running.
I paid $44 shipped for the TT, so it was worth it to me.

A remote starter has a built in turbo timer if you guys have automatics. I should be putting mine in today. I was however contemplating a "poor man's turbo timer" using a latching relay and cheap timer of some sort. You could probably make something up for less than 5 dollars that would work. Maybe vrg3 wants to tackle that one
