Anyway, I dunno if I'd recommend the ej25 turbo idea. For about the same price or maybe more, maybe less who knows, you can get a turbo EJ22 block and have a safe engine.

legacy, you might want to try and find one of the rare ej32sc's! They only inported them into florida from 1989 to 1991. I heard they jacked a few of them up into North Carolina on some Coke runs cause they were so fast. They were the only supercharged 6 cylinder legacies ever imported. And they are a direct bolt in and they use the stock 2.2 NA ecu. Good luck!

that depeds on what you're trying to do. If you want mgobs of power get an ej22 turbo block. if you just want a smidge more, i'd recomend staying with wat you'e got but do mad chassis suspsnion brake work, then if you absooulely haer to have somemore power but still dont want gobs you could hink about an ej25 but b e prepared to replae the hg's.

They wouldn't, but they'd allow you to control the power that you have. Meaning you could take turns at 50 mph instead of 30 mph.

they will help, but i would encourage you to do suspension work before rims and tires. Me, I had some wrx rims and tires, and when i put them on my 92k old "very very worn" suspension, the car would grip well, but it was a little scary when it broke loose. Low profiles will make your ride harsher without doin squat to body lean. They look 'ballin' though.91legacyman wrote:what about rims and a low profile tire would that help along with all the suspension and chassis mods or no?

as far as engine stuff for the ej22, intake and exhaust (preferably with a little intelligent engineering) and a msd dis-2 will free up a bit of power. A fringe benefit is you can do this work, and if you swap engines, it can come along too. Heck, if you buy another sube down the road, it will mostly swap over.

i gave it some thought and i think im just gonna do what u said and do some suspension mods and a set of wrx wheels like u or maybe some rally rims and just just keep this car the way it is cuz this car is really clean no rust no where engine bay is also really clean i keep it nice and clean lol anyway i think im gonna try to find a project car i was searching for a couple days now i found a 91 legacy awd turbo 5mt so im gonna check into that
No no no, tires before anything else. I don't know what tires you had on your car before the Bridgestone Potenza RE92's scott (stock wrx tires) but it sounds like they were generic. You can't really say it wont help anything since they're the most important part of a vehicle, they help EVERYTHING. You can have all the suspension mods in the world, but if you're using re92's your suspension is nothing but a band-aid on the real problem. This isnt' to say re92's are utter crap, they're pretty bad but there's worse out there. They just aren't that great of tires. You don't have to go to a low profile tire to get better grip. If you buy wrx wheels you can get 205/50-16's (as close to your stock size as possible) and have excellent grip depending on which tire you choose. That all depends on what you want. If you want summer tire on the cheap, then go with Kuhmo ECSTA 712 MX or something like that, they're like 50-60 a pop and handle quite well. I'm using Yokohama AVS ES100's a bit more money but man do they ever stick to the road. If you wanted a winter only tires I head Bridgestone Blizzaks are some of if not the best, and everyone here seems to like nokian hakkahs or whatever
. All seasons I'm looking at the Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S, they seem to be great from reviews so I'm going to try them. Though I'm sure you can find something that'd work excelent, maybe a higher quality Potenza, or something. But definately do tires before doing anyhting else mod-wise.

Michelin pilots before. RE-92's aren't a fantastic summer tire, but they're pretty decent tires. I'd rather have worse grip and be able to control it better than better grip and silly body lean. I've experienced both. Suspension does just as much for your accel, braking, lateral roadholding, whatever as good tires do.
Id say the tires are the bandaid. Granted, good tires and good suspension should come in pairs.

Most important is to bring tired components into line. Worn struts should be replaced with at least KYB GR2s (they're cheaper than OEM struts anyway) and bushings that are shot should be replaced (usually antiroll bar end links). After that, I'd say tires. Tired suspension would be a waste of tires, but if the suspension is in good shape, tires would be the best starting point.
