Had a happy, yet little sad day today
This all started this week. I was looking through the buying and selling section of Celica.net for a 3 piece spoiler for my Celica when I found it...A 1991 Toyota Celica All-Trac. It was white, had a dent behind the driver's door and a blown turbo. The price was right though. Today i finally got the car back to my house at Penn State, where i have a new turbo waiting for it. Unfortunately this means i have to give up my Subaru. I am very excited that i found the exact car i have been looking for these past 5 years, but it is a little sad that i had to give up my Legacy. The good news is that my little brother will be driving it after i remove most of the go-fast parts (he's only 16, he doesn't need to go fast), so it will still be in the family. I will definately come to some meets if i can, and i will try to post here as often as possible. I learned quite a few things about these Legacys that i would love to use to help others. Thanks everyone for your help this past year and a half, i guarantee that my SS wouldn't have been running right now without your help. I will post pictures up tomorrow of the car and the turbo swap. Thanks again.
Ben

Well congrats on finding the car you've been looking for. That's good that your SS is going to stay in the family. Once you get it all fixed up you should come up to the port and give me a ride.

All-tracs are completely awesome cars. The Celica and Legacy were fierce WRC competitors in the early 90's, with the former usually coming out ahead. It's a damned shame that Toyota had to go and get a creativity and marketability enema in the mid-90s.

I like the view out the windshield with the headlights up. They may be heavy and aerodynamically poor, but they look cool. I feel like Carlos Sainz in the things. Never drove an All-Trac version, though.

I almost bought one of those back in the day, or so I thought. This little old lady had a pretty involved scam using the car. I was a stupid 18 year old so she almost got me. I gave her a deposit so I could take the car off the market and to a mechanic so I could have it checked out. She refused to let me take it, and she took it to her mechanic. She brought some paperwork back, but for a different white Celica. When I called Shenanigans she drove off with my check. So I cancelled the check and called the cops. They tracked her down and they were basically led to a chop shop. The Celica I wanted had a disputed Salvage title, expired tags, and the VIN of a different car. I still ended up getting a car with a turbo….an 87 Volvo 740, needless to say not as cool as an All-Trac

All-Trac's are awesome! I don't know that I could give up my Legacy now for one, but when I was looking for cars, it was one of the 3 I was interested in (Galant VR4, Turbo Legacy, And the All-trac).
Congrats Ben! You DEFINATELY have to come to the next F&S and Shootout!

Yeah, any rally reps are welcome as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for all the responses guys, i was honestly expecting a few "All-Trac, what the hell is that?". I do miss my Legacy a little (especially after taking the turbo out of the All-Trac today
), but i know my brother will love it, even though it isn't exactly what he was looking for at the time. Of course i'll get him on here, where else could he learn so much about the car? I'm sure i'll be in a turbo legacy again one day, but it will probably be a new one unless Toyota makes another All-Trac car here
. I will try to get those pics up here soon, i need to find the cable to the camera first though.

Hey I actually didn't quite know a Delage when I saw one today. It was either the Voisin next to it or Angela next to me that divided my attention, but either way it took me a minute.

Yeah, the BMW either.
There's 2 All-Tracs near me and I've seen a few others, but I've seen way more turbo Legacy wagons even.
I thought of buying one before I bought this car, too, but the few I found were over $7k.

DeLorean - the same guy who was the father of the GTO and, in some eyes, the muscle car in turn. You'd beat him. They're dogs. I could write a couple pages on them. My sister's ex-boyfriend who (a freak who reminded me of Michael Meyers from the Halloween movies in appearance and demeaner - a real creep fest) has one, too.

A girl I used to date off and on in high schools dad had one (Delorean). It wasn't really all that nice, I mean it was cherry but I wasn't that impressed by it. The shifter felt sloppy and the clutch was kinda spongy feeling too. It looked pretty cool though. She had a Fiat convertable that was much more fun IMO.

Fortunately for me, i learned a few things when i put a GT-Four (JDM All-Trac) motor in my FWD Celica
. The new turbo is now on the All-Trac and i am buttoning the rest of the things up. For $2850, even with a dent and a blown turbo i couldn't say no. It also came with a few goodies (S-AFC II, and a Greddy TT, decent stereo, short shifter, MBC and a BOV (crap though).
