Overhaulin

Post by magicmike »

This show is awesome. I cant believe they totally restore a car in one week. It is amazing. That Chip Foose guy is incredible. That is talent my friends, not like that other shitty ass show American hotrod with that egotistical mother f'er who has his team do all the work while he sits back in his k-mart hawaii shirts pushing them to the limit for his unrealistic deadlines. I hate that man, he is so immature that his idea of increasing shop moral is to do a friggen burnout in his POS chevy truck. Who is amused by this crap? Why do I feel so strongly about this? Could it be that I once worked for a high end car stereo shop in boston called Rich's Cartunes? Where this man had made a reputation for himself in the 70's and rode that wave by hireing great installers and watching them do excellent work only to take the credit for himself. I have litterally seen this man take a screwdriver out of a tool box and pose for a photo for a magazine on a car that someone else just finished. I dont know, I think I just needed to vent. I think the people who bust their asses never get the regognition they deserve, its always the scumbag who's name is on the building who gets it.

Awesome! I 100% agree. I have always hated Boyd Coddington for exactly the reasons as you said. At least while the OCC on American Chopper farm out a lot of stuff, they give credit where it's due (like the kid who does those unbelievable paint jobs).

It's why I'd never name a car after myself unless I did nearly all the work myself or if my name carried some sort of cache like Rickenbacker, for instance.

I wish I could get my car on Overhaulin', but I doubt they'd bother. What they do in that time frame truly is incredible. I wonder where Chip went to school as his renderings are quite good. I never had the patience (and perhaps some of the talent) to do them that well.

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
