Projector fog lights ( try the impreza's??)

I know the euro and aussie spec cars had fog lights in the openings. Has anyone tried to fit the small ones that came in the mid 90's imprezas?

I measured one today and it was about 3 1/2 by 2 1/2

I might hack one and see what I can find.

I think you are talking about the OEM projector fogs that came in some Impreza L and 95-ish Legacy. While not HID, they are pretty good, probably the best of the OEM fogs. Sure, the big ones on 02-03 WRX and the 2.5RS look really cool, but the projectors have better beam pattern and cut off. I put them in my Impreza wagon and I'm fairly pleased with them.

That being said, several aftermarket choices would be better. Since you want to tuck them into the bumper cut outs, I'd recommend the Hella Micro DE. Very good beam pattern, great cut off since they are projectors, and all the wiring you need. Also, they will have more flexible mounting options that the OEMs. Get them from www.rallylights.com

yes, my mistake, I meant Projectors.

I have seen pics of the Hella's, but did not know they were projectors.
