Question about Ebay front mount intercoolers

Post by Cliff2.2 »

What's the difference between thishttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... gory=33742 and a "higher quality" intercooler.

Would one like this be suitable for a FMIC setup?[/url]

It is tube & fin to start off with. A lot of others are bar & plate. Tube & fin has more internal resistance (read pressure drop). But it lets more air through to your radiator. Bar & plate blocks more air going to your radiator, but internal has less restricition for the turbo.

Each type has its pros/cons, but most FMIC that I've seen use bar & plate.

yes, you would just have more pressure drop. Make sure and measure where you plan to put it so you know what will fit and what will not.

if its one thing that ive learned its that you can fit anything with a sazal. that and most of the high dollar intercoolers ive seen in person are tube and fin. that includes aps.

Mostly the price. Outlets are good and flanged, the welds look good from what I could see. There are a ton of these on ebay with differen sizes so get off your ass take off the bumper cover and break out your tape measure. Look at the outlets and where they are positioned so it'll work well with the way you want to pipe it.
