Post by subby74 »

im considering putting a 94WRX 4EAT into a 92LegacyGT I can buy a trans with driveshaft and rear diff for really cheap and done only 86000kms!! Can this be done? and if so will the ECU be a prob.

P.S. Ive learnt a lot on this site in the last couple of weeks and id just like to say thanks for sharing all your knowledge. Hoping to pick the brains of all you cool dudes in da future. :P :D

peace out

It should fit in just fine, and since your getting the rear diff, mismatched front & rear diffs won't be a problem.

Not sure exactly if you'll have any issues with the electronics or not. If the connectors are the same, and the 94 wrx has a phase 1 4EAT, it should just be a plug and play thing.

Since you have a GT wagon in NZ, I've got a good feeling that you have an EJ20T Legacy, in which case it will not only bolt in, but it will probably be easier than it would be for us Yanks with the EJ22.

yes, Phase 1 4EATs are what came in the 90-94 legs/liberties. Phase 2 are what comes in the 2.5RS and whatnot, IIRC. Some one call me out if i'm wrong.
