non Turbo and Turbo 4eat wats the difference!!!

Post by subby74 »

just realised that my 94 4eat imprezza tranny that i got is non turbo just need sum feedback on putting in a turbo wagon 92Legacy how much power can the box handle am i better off leaving and getting a turbo trans can this be done at all.And also the rear diff looks a lot smaller than my original thus i have feeling it wont work without blowing tranny or stressing tranny bigtime just need confirmation i guess. :(

Dang!

I believe the turbo had most clutches and holds more fluid. What's the ratio of the tranny and the diff, that's the main concern you need to have.

I've been reasearching this exact question and not finding much myself.

I understand the whole 3.90/4.11 issues, but I'll just swap rear ends to maintain proper ratios.

I'm trying to understand if phase1 4EATs are any different turbo to non turbo. I'm considering putting a turbo legacy motor into a NA legacy but I couldn't really comment on the customers concerns for his tranny being able to put up with more power.

Any help is appreciated!
