maybe
you'd both love and hate the lighting on this car vikash. Projector 9006 lowbeams, fluted with an E-code type of beam pattern 9005 highbeams, and h3 fogs. Why would you hate it? the fogs are in the same housings as the low and high beams, above the bumper.

Sweeeeeet.
Hehe, good thing the fog lamps are the least used of all the lamps on that car
. Having the fogs that high is suboptimal, but it's still better than no fogs at all, and it's not dangerous to other drivers. My old Benz had high fogs like that, and they were still occasionally useful.
So what's the first modification going to be?

That car is nice. I was telling him that that the svx, to me, is the perfect longdistance weekend getaway car. It's very much a cruiser, and very comfortable. Now all he needs is a nice girl for the passenger seat!

Nice.
Oh, you should definitely upgrade the wiring harness at the same time. Do just one light first -- put in the Xtravisions and the heavy wiring -- and compare that light to the other stock one. You'll be astonished at the difference.

I dont really want to get into the wiring right now. I know it'll be tons better, but honestly I just don't feel like doing that right now. Probably in a few weeks. It's still light years better than the legacy lighting.

Congratulations! I love the SVX, especially the ones with the black top. I think the silver and white had black tops.
I hope you got a fantastic deal on it. That way it won't hurt TOO much writing the checks to keep it on the road. I researched and looked for a good SVX for a few months. I found the much more practical (for me) Legacy first. The service manager at one of our local Subaru dealerships has a black SVX that I tried to buy, but he finally decided not to sell it.
That's a really sexy car, and a great color. I'd still like to have one someday. Please post more pictures.

You probably saw a bordeaux pearl. I think there's like 11 different colors. Three greens, two reds, two burgandys, blue, white, black and silver. Black top was only available in 92 on pearl white, claret, and liquid silver, and in 94 on pearl white.

Wipe that shit eating grin off your face Hardy!!
The car is a work of art. I was the one that drove him into San Fran to get it (which, by the way... is my LAST trip to san fran for a LOOONG TIME!) and the car was worth the trip and hassle it took to pry it from the prev. owners hands.
Hardy even let me drive it. Was the 1st time ive driven a SVX and wow... wow... wow. Its great. Seating could be better (or maybe i didnt have time to find tune the adjustments) but the acceleration was amazing. Not the fact that it accelerated so fast... but the fact that you didnt even know you were accelerating. It doesnt have that 'put you in the seat' accleration that my legacy has... it just goes and you just enjoy the ride

You don't need to destroy a lamp to realize that removing the beam-shaping optics is going to ruin a lamp's ability to do what it does.
It should mostly just affect the high beam, though, so rather than blind people you'd just lose your own ability to see.
