I'll be installing a different downpipe this week or next. Should I go ahead and change out the current O2 sensor?

It depends on how old the current one is. Mine downpipe still has the original sensor and since I am getting crappy gas miliage, I am replacing it. It can't hurt and since you will have the downpipe removed, why not.

My thoughts exactly. Isn't too expensive and I'd rather not fight with trying to get it out. Better gas mileage would be a plus as well.

If you're reusing an oxygen sensor you should get a new 18mm crush washer to make sure it seals.

^^Yeah, good idea. I ordered mine from oxygensensors.com and it came with a crush washer.
