How do I remove the Torque converter from engine?

Post by douglas vincent »

Pulled the extra motor from the spare wagon but i can't get the torque converter off. Is it supposed to just slide off or what?

Thanks

On the ole 88ish GL's there were 4 bolts holding it that could be acessed though the timing check cover. These, I have no idea.

posted a response to your thread on nabisco. You need to remove the bolts that hold the torque converter onto the flex plate. You can access these bolts through the little access plug hole on the engine bell housing....not exactly fun, but that's the only way to get at them.
