Early 90's Accord Kill
I don't know what it is about my town but it's rare that someone will at least go off the line with you. Today though some guy in a little honda thought he had the kuhunas. Light went, I gave an easy launch on the cluth, she's still making that clunking sound, which gave him the start, as I shifting into second I was coming close, shifted into second and time I was hitting third he was a couple back, took it up to 60 and eased off, I'd proved my point
. Can't wait till I have my turbo though...

I used to think those cars were fairly quick back when I drove GLs, but a guy from work with the same thing was going home the same way as me last moth and thought my low compression car was fast! He said he tried to catch me and I wasn't even aware there was a race. It's funny all the kids out there who think those cars are quick today. [old man voice] When I was a kid the posers (present day ricers) drove 5 point slows. We thought those were weak, but compared to the crap the kids drive now ... Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
I used to drive a 92 Accord, and those things are compete toilets... The F22 sucks ass, a stock NA Legacy would absoltuely romp one of those and they have the same amount of power, but the F22 has no low end torque whatsoever.

Not familiar with Honda engine codes, but was it the LX or the EX. The EX with the bigger engine would haul nicely. My mom had a 5-speed '92 EX and it was just fast enough to have fun in.
Of course everything felt pretty fast after getting out of the Brat.

They (Honda) definitely kept getting slower as the cars increased in size and weight but kept nearly the same displacement engines. I remember taking a roommate in my 1980 Accord to pick up his new (then) 97 Accord from the dealer. He tried several times to beat me on the way home and lost every time. I liked the older Accords and some of the really old Civics. The cars were light and nimble with three-barrel carburated engines with a pre-combustion chamber that let them run insanely low compressions. At the time my roommate got his new Accord, I was running with only 45psi on one of the cylinders. The others were less than 80. I sold it when the frame started rusting out and I couldn't even jack it up to change a tire. I still keep an eye out for one of those older models.
