HKS Tubo Timer - ON/OFF Intermitantly

Post by rlima »

My 3 year old HKS turbo timer has suddenly started to turn itself on and off at will while driving.
If anyone has had a similar problem could you tell me if this is some type of ground fault or lose wiring either in the harness connection or in the unit itself?

Thanks

I don't know anything about how good the wiring is inside the unit, but have you checked all the connections made when it was installed in the car? Try wiggling each wire to see if you can make it turn off the turbo timer...

Did you install it, or did you have a shop do it? My uncle once let a shop install a carphone in my '84 Mercedes 300D and they just used Scotch-lock connectors on the ignition switch to get its power. They failed after a few years.

Check your ground wire first. Without the ground, the unit will lose power.
