I have a BF5. I know that the front/rear speakers are 6.5" (well thats what everyone says).
I have some MB Quart 215.03 CX (5.25" splits), and an Alpine V12 MRV-F400S amp from my old car.
Should I fit my MB Quart's in the front or
Should I just get some new front splits.
They are really good speakers, and I can't say that I'd get much for them second hand.
Also, what are your views on running some 6.5" co-axials in the rear.

good 6.5" speakers up front would give you better sound. Just need to make sure you don't get a speaker with too deep a mounting depth. Or else you'll need spacers.
If you get rear speakers, you should try to get ones that won't over power the fronts. This is soooo common for people to do. It drives me crazy.
When you go to a concert do you turn around and have your back facing the music........NO......then why the hell do you want to do that in your car??
with an adapter plate you might be able to put the 5.25" speakers in the rear deck.
Then just adjust the gains appropriately to get your sound levels where they need to be.

Most 6.5" speakers will require spacers in the front; our doors are really really shallow. Spacers aren't a big deal though, and they should still fit behind the door panel.
I prefer my sound stage to be a bit behind me in the car, especially for lower frequencies. They're less directional anyway, but they're not as easily blocked by my clutch leg, and seem more uniform. I like my treble up front and my midrange/bass a little rear-biased. The car's a different situation from the concert; at a concert I typically try to be near the center, which isn't possible in my car. Tuning phase shifts and relative volumes could simulate it, but then my passengers would hear really weird sounds.

It's not about what the passengers hear......it's what you hearThe car's a different situation from the concert; at a concert I typically try to be near the center, which isn't possible in my car. I had mine setup pretty much perfectly. I think I have a line driver that probably could used to be replaced because I've got a tad bit bias towards the right. I've added a new headunit....and I should replace the line driver and some rcas and completely re-tune the system.
There was a difference between sitting in the drivers seat and passengers seat up front. Drivers sounded better.
Sitting elsewhere the sound still sounds good.....just not as perfect a soundstage as the drivers seat.
