Some new pix of my RX:

Post by TheSubaruJunkie »

Did a couple of things to it since ive owned it.

1st thing I wanted to do was remove the scuff marks from the bumper and trim. So i painted the trim a darker grey:

Then of course, i needed to put my boost gauge somewhere:

Then I did alittle work to my interior. Replaced the shift boot, shift knob and installed a stereo:

And last, but definatly not least was the grill work I did over the past couple days. A few hours, a dremel, and some bondo:

The grill is only about 95% complete. I need to do more bondo and sanding... and i will be painting the center support on the RX so its hidden alittle.

Looks good.

Doh! Looks like you have room for 2 gauges where you put your boost! You know why put one gauge in when you can fit two with only twice the space of one ;). And are you planning on putting more gauges in that face you installed underneath the radio? I think so :)

And some kind of emblem in your grill area would have that "hovering" effect, and would look pretty trick. Like a real carbon fiber STi rabbit badge. I had one of those... but sold it with the Brat. :(

Im going to get a SVX hood badge, and put it on the hood, very front and center... like the SVX. I hate hovering badges, the center of the grill will remain empty.

I will put a EGT guage above my boost gauge. The face below my stereo has switches for my lights.

Looks sweet! This may sound a little ricey, but perhaps some custom eye lids may set it off. Just an IMO.

Man, I'm pretty jealous right now. So I am assuming a bunch of auxillary lights are going to be installed? Any plans for tinted windows? Subwoofer?

That things is pretty tight. The real 4wd, turbo, full factory body kit. Why doesn't Subaru make them like that anymore??

Yeah, im gonna be tinting the windows but probably not for a long time. I went shopping yesterday for some sub's. I want a box with (2) 10's or (3) 8's. Havent found the perfect box yet.

The car is actually AWD, not 4WD. Its a Dual Range Full Time 4WD :) The Dual range RULES!

Give a rundown on what it does with the differentials and all their different types if you could.

I noticed that the dash display was different. But saw the same 4wd selector as my wagon. :?

I like bigger speakers for the lower frequency excursions... that's why I have a 15" and a 12" sub in the wagon :). But I must say I have never heard anything good about 8" subs.

My friend had 8" MTX's that were perfect :) I will be finding 3 of them, but not in a hurry. I like the sound of my RX over any CD i have in my possesion.

The Differentials are as so:
Front - Open, of course
Rear - 3.7 LSD (not a VLSD that came in the Legacy's, real LSD)
Center - Open with a lockable switch to lock 50/50.

The lever that you see is just for Hi & low, no FWD selector. Which makes it AWD in my mind, but Full Time 4WD To subaru until mid 90's. I drive around in Hi of course, and use Low to get off the line, or pull out of a hairpin turns (ask Thawa about those).

I also havent run the center diff locked yet, cause of the tire's and terrain. I havent found any mud or snow to try the center diff lock.
