Is your stock valve not working right?

Ah, okay.

Well, it's hard to make any kind of judgement just from that listing. It makes me nervous that no manufacturer is named. And I'm kind of curious how they manage to make a recirculating blowoff valve really loud... it might involve restrictions to flow.

I guess it would probably be okay, but for that kind of money I personally would probably choose another OEM type, like the Bosch one that Porsche uses.

im gonna vote no unless you have a fmic. if your running the stick intake track its not receomended unless you like haveing pains in your ass while installing thing.

vrg3. the bov can be lound when recirculated. the sound it makes just goes down a touch when recriced. for example the type s from greedy on a dsm is just as loud when recirced as it is when open.

How do they make it loud though, without disrupting the airflow?

Save your money and buy a wrx intercooler. It will do more for your car. BOV's do get some attention but mostly of the kind that will kick your ass unless you have more serious mods.

Not really. The UTEC is one of the best standalone's out there. And their FMIC kit is pretty tits. Their BOV's aren't the best, but they are GREAT at handling 25psi+ loads.

I refuse to have any respect for a company that makes the trumpet BOV. That might be because every turbo car around here has the RFL and they automatically become the fastest car in the world once they have a loud BOV, and to top it all off their blow off valves sound like ass, a tire exploding sounds better. Ok, rant over, sorry.

The UTEC isn't exactly a standalone. It's a sophisticated piggyback.

I guess your right Vikash, but it's still one of the best tuning appliances on the market, standalone or not. It does everything a real standalone can do (with great ease of tuning no less), AND it allows you to keep your OBD2 port active (which no true standalone allows you to do). Pretty cool, and people seem to make 350whp with it without problem. It's good, better than people give credit for.

It would be a hell of a time to get the UTEC to work with our cars... Probably could be done, but expect a fully custom wiring harness, and lots of tuning for the computer to make any sense of the values from our sensors.
