i mean apart from the turbo spinning to fast and getting damaged..

If i was to be able to keep the boost at a low temp is there anything else stopping me from lifting the boost?

size of fuel injectors and how lean the engine runs.

my big thing is im scared of blowing a headgasket, but i've run over 24psi on my 16G for a short period of time. Then i fixed my boost gauge and turned the boost down a little. It pulls pretty damn hard at 24 psi in fifth tho. lol

There are plenty of other things. To stem this thread RIGHT NOW from becoming full of half-truths and more questions which will lead to a whole different topic entirely, I suggest that anyone with this same question go purchase a copy of Corky Bell's book Maximum Boost.

It may not be the end-all-be-all book to turbocharging, but it will be a damn good start and will teach you A LOT about what you don't know.

Well, thanks for your input. Just working on an idea. I already have an IC, I'm currently modding it to cool using dry ice. :) :)

I have lots of think to think about, just seeing if I missed anything.

Does anyone know WHY we would blow a head gasket WITH too much boost[Question mark]. I know it can HOLD 20psi BECAUSE that's shit all pressure.

Detonation?

Cause making a custom pulley is rather exspensive and time consuming, not that that is stopping me tonight! 10 psi here I come!

I seem to remember someone mentioning a Legacy Turbo owner running 30 psi boost on stock internals without breaking anything. My memory may be going, though.

Personally, it is my lack of a boost gauge, intercooler and MBC.

That, and the fact that my car is currently sans-fuel pump.......
