Check Out These Bad Boys

Post by Subaru_Nation555 »

For about 6 months I have been wanting a set of WRX wheels. Recently, however, I have changed my mind and decided to go with something bigger. Upon browsing the internet a pair of 17X7 wheels caught my eye. They are Sport Edition Fox 2 wheels from Tire Rack. I wanted to know two things. Is the +50 off set is appropriate for my application and what size tire is ideal? Thanks.

here is a photochop of how they look on the car.

Either 205 or 215 tire width is appropriate. I prefer the 215/45-17s myself. . . so long as you're not dumped and there's a chance of a lot of rubbing.

I think the 50mm offset is just right. Especially since that's what's recommended for your car. So long as you're not going with a totally huge tire width, there'd be no reason to mess with the offset.

I hear those wheels weight a ton. It will most likely slow your car down a lot.

21 lbs should not be too bad. I like the look of those wheels. I also agree on the 215/45/17, but no drop. I have that size on the impreza, but they rub on the Leg because of the drop. Or just keep looking for WRX rims. I got mine with tires for $225

21 pounds!? Sweet baby jesus!

They look nice, but I dunno. That is a lot of weight. I would reconsider. 10 million people in our area sell their stock rims every day.

Rotational and unsprung weight are bad. The less of it you have, the better it all is.

WRX rims with stock tires are equal weight to 14" stock steelies with tires. At least for the amount of wear on mine.
