I have those same speakers!!! But they're not in my car, heh.

I'm doing a slightly more... advanced version of your same setup in my car. Ordered the mounting parts, waiting for them to mail. 'Cause I have an iPod and it's all I ever use for ICE in a car I drive.

For about the first 2 years I owned my car, I had a portable CD player plugged into the AUX port on my factory 80W stereo. Sounded great actually!

Noice Setup, m8, but I don't understand why the boost gauge has to take up the area where you would normally put a stereo. In fact, if you need another factory radio, I can give/sell you one for cheap. In good condition, too!
Otherwise, nice work! Gotta love duct tape...

yay, 15 points for me

the boost guage is there because i'm to cheap to spend money on a guage pod, and that white piece of metal is actually part of a hood (it will get replaced when i get a dual pod A pillar thing). i have another factory radio, just not enough room for it, and i kind of have no speakers, and i would have to re-wire the radio connections (other car had an aftermarket radio that was taken from it)

Is that a manual shift knob on the auto gear selector? Pretty ingenius!

Yeah, I was noticing that too. How'd ya get the Manual control to work, or didn't you wire it in? Do you press down on the top to shift? That's a very interesting design.

He PM'd me about it guys, as I beat you to asking..
It's something his bro gave him for xmas, which was meant for autos. He's checking on what/where it is for me, as I wanted to have that, too. But yes, you do press it down to shift.
Right?

Sounds kind of like the XT auto shifter, then. I had one on my '84 GL.

yeah, you press it down to shift. the manual button is not hooked up at the moment (i havent had much time to just play with my car) but when i find some time i'm going to be hooking the manual button wires up to some type of switch. so we'll see how that goes and i'll probably post a write up or something :D
