Put a MAP ECU in my Subaru, and wasn't able to use the learning mode due to MAF issues with it. I need a fuel map that will at least come close to wroking right. I've tried a couple "base" maps that came with it, but they don't work. Help please!

The "MAP ECU" may be a piggyback, but its map requires as much tuning skill as the VE table of a standard standalone speed density ECU.
You say the base maps you tried don't work -- what engines are the base maps for, and what happens when you try them?
You may need to come up with your own base map based on the definitions of the parameters and some assumptions about the engine's volumetric efficiency.
Or just buy a replacement MAF sensor... considering how much the MAP ECU costs, a working MAF sensor seems like a reasonable investment to help you tune it.
