Reset TCU?
How can I reset the TCU? I'm hoping that maybe my 4WD has an electrical and not a mechanical failure...

pull fuse 16 (EGI/TCU) under the dash.
Leave it out for 10 min. That will reset ECU & TCU.

Ok, I cut the wire and drove around a little, raced a riced out Civic, and so far I got nothing more than some strange noise and shaking when I go around slow corners...

mines got no awd at the mo.
Cutting the wire to duty solenoid c makes the drive 50/50 so it's locked up full time. Only prob is u now have binding in ur drive line especially going round corners. Reconnect it otherwise things are going to get flogged out pretty quick. U will still have that aggressive awd when u race, the tcu senses slipping between front and rear axles and controls the transfer clutch accordingly.
Why did u cut it in the first place?

that shaking/noise is from the binding of the AWD system. It's not meant to be run 50/50 all the time. In slippery conditions it would be beneficial.91White-T wrote:Ok, I cut the wire and drove around a little, raced a riced out Civic, and so far I got nothing more than some strange noise and shaking when I go around slow corners...

sounds like there is a mechanical based problem somewhere in the tranny/rear extension housing.

wait a minute, cutting the duty C wire trips it into 50/50 split? this is what i have been wanting to do for a while now! i wanna throw a toggle (or tie into that useless manual switch) and give me full awd on demand.
any idea if this will reek havoc on the tcu?
dude, time to sell the subie and buy an amc eagle...the true measuring stick by which all sport utility cars should be compared.
no tranny fluid leaks? i know that between the trans and rear housing, part of the case can get wallowed out, but that usually diminshes awd action, rather than causing it to increase. but at any rate, i agree with 777, something ain't right in that rear housing.
good luck.

The car's at the dealer right now, so hopefully I'm gonna find out exactly what the hell's goin on. As for that wire cutting thing, I wouldn't recommend it... It made some really ugly sounds and shakes during low speed turns.

It would be great help, if anyone of you have pinout sheet.
So far clutch and TCU is replaced(used TCU), c soledoid was mesured and it should be ok, but still my Legacy is 2WD
Before I change solenoid, I would like to manually switch solenoid on/off and measure tcu, to see if solenoid is the problem.
Thanks for the help.
If you can e-mail it to me, it's: jkb@mbnet.fi
