No, it's the same bore, 1-1/16". Plus the ports on the MC are going to be oriented differently.kimokalihi wrote:Is the STI MC an upgrade for an SS or no?

It should be stamped on the MC what size it is, so you should be able to confirm.SWRT wrote:Yeah, Non-ABS. I've looked into it and they supposedly
had the right master cylinder up at Autozone, but they
weren't sure. It was $70 though

I just took off the sunvisor and cilp. Then I tugged it down enough to where I could get at the 2 bolts. I had to remove the oh shit handle too. You won't have that problem on the drivers side. I also noticed that the proper way to re-install the assembly is to install the front part of the track (by the windshield) first and then work your way back down to the cable motor.ciper wrote:Any advice for replacing the seatbelt rail? As for me I finished up my belt installation on the passenger side tonight, got the jams painted on my new fender, and tried to install my new airbag. I forgot that the airbag requires a special bit to remove it. And I thought it was just a 10mm.
Was there an SVX with an without ABS?Legacy777 wrote:It should be stamped on the MC what size it is, so you should be able to confirm.SWRT wrote:Yeah, Non-ABS. I've looked into it and they supposedly

Yeah when I did my seat belt conversion and helped a buddy out with swapping the guts out of the auto seat belts, I just took the trim pieces off and the visor off. I didn't want to remove the entire head liner, that would have really sucked! The passenger side is a pain because of the o-shit handle. The driver's side is easier.
Here are pics from my manual seat belt conversion. They may be helpful showing some of the parts off.

Yes you could the SVX with or without ABS.SWRT wrote:Was there an SVX with an without ABS?
I was just concerned with getting the wrong
one for the fitment to my car rather than one
with the wrong bore. And will Autozone's say
the bore size?
That's a loaded question....SWRT wrote:Did you buy the seatbelts new?
Hey, cool man. I'll give that a shot. I'd love to haveLegacy777 wrote:Yes you could the SVX with or without ABS.SWRT wrote:Was there an SVX with an without ABS?

Any of the SVX MC's will physically fit with your car. You can look at the MC and tell if it's the correct one. The non-abs has four ports, while the abs has two ports.
The bore size should be stamped on the casting. Most of the time the stuff you get at autoparts stores are reman'd OEM stuff, so the casting bore size should still be there.
I'd suggest just telling them to order it in, but that you want to take a look first. I wouldn't tell them you're looking to use it on your legacy, just tell them you have a 94 SVX non-abs and if what they have is not the 4-port setup and/or doesn't have the 1-1/16" bore, just tell them that it's the wrong one.

My good friend lives in Austin and his inspection expired in 2007. He has a 94 L sedan fwd 5sp. They keep telling him that there's something wrong with the exhaust and he can't pass (seems ok to me). He just keeps driving it.Legacy777 wrote:I got my Legacy inspected yesterday. The last inspection was done in 2008....so it's been a little while since I've had a valid inspection sticker

Wonder what is wrong with the exhaust. If it has the cats it should pass emissions, and I would think pass a visual inspection....but who knows what some of the inspectors are thinking.concretelegacy wrote:My good friend lives in Austin and his inspection expired in 2007. I think he told me that they said there's a crack in the manifold. And maybe there is a small one but it's quieter than my 94. I'm guessing that if it has a small crack in the manifold before the cats it's a fail. I am soooo glad we don't have any of that b.s. here in Montana.Legacy777 wrote:Wonder what is wrong with the exhaust. -Thanks. I really like the sound from the outside even though I don't get that turbo whistle anymore, but fromSWRT wrote: Dude...that sounds so freakin nice.
