I have no ABS on my aveo. Only once did i regret not having it. Was rainy and greasy out, was coming up to an awkward 3 way intersection which had no stop sign on my side of it. Had about 2 car lengths between me and the intersection when this lady in an F-150 pulls out. Slammed on the brakes and slid right into her rear wheel well. She was going too slow to give me space to get out around her so i sat there and braced for the hit. If i had had ABS i would've been fine most likely. Gutted the front end >.>

I actually purposely test my brakes quite a bit in dicey situations, icy roads/snow etc-- It's good to get a feel of how things are reacting at a given speed and what suits the situation best before having to find out in the case of an emergency.

but back on topic: in the continued rehabilitation of this wild subaru, we have begun reintroducing it back into its natural habitat after a few changes. Progress:

Winter is almost here! No way in hell I would have made it to this trail head with my previous slammed suspension and lack of winter tires.

Got the tank filled yesterday and drove the hell outta it. That was a great time and I only used a quarter tank.

Lol, I got a call from a friend who lives a hundred miles away. His friend borrowed his truck, and his tailgate was hardly connected, and bounced itself loose and disappeared. He found one local to me, so I picked it up for him.

Replaced the rear knuckle after it grenaded again. Twice in two years. Amazing I made it home from wheeling last weekend. Since I had it torn apart I added another inch of lift. Now I'm at 7" on the suspension and 6" on the body. Now I just need some bigger tires.

I pulled the 5spd out of the Legacy on Friday. I've got a few things I've got to do before the 6spd goes in.

With a tear in my eye, I traded in my 2006 Impreza Outback that I've had since dec. 2005 that had 7 miles on it when I got it and I got a new ford escape.

I worked on a few things on the car over the long weekend. Only got one thing finished though. :?

Rear coilover adjustment extenders.

Also had a quick photo-op at a graffiti mural wall in town. It's usually got cars parked in front, but I caught it at the right time I guess.

Try here for directions. I'm fairly certain it's still open. You can always check with Josh to be certain though I imagine.

Finished the 7" suspension lift.

Side damage is a result of our last wheeling trip when I cut the corner a little too close and got stuck on a tree.

^^ That is freakin AWESOME!

Do you have a build journal? A buddy of mine has been wanting to lift a 1st gen. Some advice in the right direction would be cool to see.

No real build journal. There are a few guys who offer lifts for EJ's. I got mine from SJR. Few complaints other than the price. If you keep the lift under 4" you won't need to change much. At 6" you need to start extending just about everything.
