I spent about 12+ hours working on the car and prepping everything to get the 6spd in. I fixed & repinned the trans wiring harness, installed shifter bushings, 6spd lower flywheel cover, and the 6spd flywheel, pp, & clutch.

I just have to grab a friend or two and another jack to muscle that monster in the car. I'm not looking forward to it.

Grabbed a heater core from a junkyard car. Picked a car that had 300k miles, cause hopefully that means it was replaced. Core itself does look new, but I suppose they don't get very dirty where they are located.

30 mins to pull dash, another 30 minutes to pull core, lol. Dash I pulled myself, Vica143 helped with the heater core.

Oh Noes! what makes you think that? Check your spark plug wires, I had a couple that backed out that made me think it was the turbo.

It's making a funny noise as soon as it starts to spool and it sounds like something is boiling inside the downpipe :(

I chopped up some blown RS struts and put koni inserts into them. When I get the rear bump stops I will put them together with my p1 springs and see how they compare to the AGXs.

Prob not practical for you. But you can buy td05 housings on ebay, including a twinscroll type. If I ever get around to getting a twinscroll manifold that's what I'll do and reuse my td05.

Trans shipping weight was 215 lbs. So it's right around 200 lbs....definitely a beast!

How much did the 5 speed weigh?

Not sure. I'll have to throw it on the packaging scale I have and see how much it weighs.

I'll probably try and do that with both the 6spd & 5spd so I've got a direct comparison.

Finished installing my accessory mount.

The top is a ball jointed universal mount. Once positioned, the joint can be tightened down so that the base can't move.

Image

The bottom is a boot made of fairly sturdy metal. It was straight, but to mount it using the chair rail bolts as suggested, the boot had to be bent quite a bit.

Image

The middle is an aluminum bar about the thickness of a sharpie that is 18 inches long. The cover is simply wire loom that has been sealed shut.

Image

Because of the gauge of the bar, there's not a lot of movement once the position is set, unless you put some real weight behind it. So it's not going to collapse or anything like that, which is really nice.

should put it on the passenger side so its not in your way and also reach to your radio and 1/2 din pocket.

Thought about it, but it basically is the interface for my music, so i like to have my hand on the wheel when i switch tracks, which i can do in it's current position.

Your Welcome :)

The forester cargo tray fits our sedan trunk very well. The newer legacy tray also fits our wagons too.

Have you tried the legacy tray in a sedan? I'm curious about that. I love the forester one, but i'm just too vain about it saying forester instead of subaru or legacy.

Fixed a small fuel smell / leak. Just loose hose clamps at the fuel filter. I've got a wicked headache now though.
