haha, i just did that two weeks ago. Took my cut off wheel to it. Stupid thing was frozen solid. It just laughed at my PB Blast. I showed it who's boss though. It was very satisfying watching the sparks fly. I was killing it. >:)

This one left a little gash and bump in my forehead. I usually wear a full face shield when I'm grinding/cutting, but since it was under the car I didn't think there was going to be room.....should have put the damn thing on. Learned my lesson.

Nearly finished the rewiring for the lighting but for a damn piece of heat shrink tube. I wouldn't be as pissed if I didn't just buy a 4' piece that completely disappeared from my living room. On a better note: I found zinc chromate green in a spray can. Nothing for Duchess, but it's exactly what I've been looking for for the interior panels of Tigershark (that or zinc chromate yellow).

I know it's just little things getting the car up and running well, but found this at a pull apart yard here in the Seattle area.

Image

Slowly robbing a few things from it. Sadly the door was pretty mangled (passenger side front) so I haven't been able to find a donor door just yet to replace mine. (I'd like to keep the same color, but that's mostly a pipe dream)

Also had an awesome experience on the way back. Rolled my passenger window down and the damn thing wouldn't roll back up with either switch. Thankfully I'd pulled a driver's side panel earlier, but didn't resolve the issue when I'd replaced it.

Ended up pulling my rear passenger side skin off, snagging the switch from it, then testing it in the front door. I'm left with this and some busted up knuckles.

Image

Also pulled a driver's side chest belt from a parts car since mine needed replaced. Definitely not the most fun thing to replace since I'm still a bit unsure of how to properly disassemble the center console. Any tips on this? I feel retarded.

How hard was it to do the headliner? I was planning to do the same thing in blue. Did you just go over the vinyl, or rip it off first?

the headliner was actually pretty easy. The hardest part was taking the car apart to get the headliner out, and that's not difficult either lol. i went over the vinyl

the gloss black roof actually looks pretty fucking cool 8)

Two more questions, then: how did you get the trim off without breaking it (like I did the trim around the rear window)? And what did you use for adhesive? I plan on doing some metal bars across the back Chevy Nomad-style, but I still want to make sure it stays up there.

looked for a "What did you do to your Subie yesterday?" thread but was not able to find one. I finally fixed the ABS problem I've had for 2 plus years.

Today, after taking apart the center console and removing the shift knob to access the shift lock solenoid I found the problem to be in the shift lock control unit. I was happy to see it was not the brake switch nor the sol. After futzing around with the control unit I found that holding the unit a certain way would energize the system. Its easy to take the circuit board out of the protective box. After doing so I noticed cold solder joints on the main relay on the circuit board. Used my solder sucker to remove the 2 bad joints and added some fresh solder. She's good as new and now I dont have to have a screwdriver jammed in that hole all the time.

Also fixed my kinked power antenna that was not going down all the way due to a car wash mishap.

luck is what got the trim off without destroying it, i just tried to yank on it right on the clip points are and that seemed to work for the most part. I am unsure as to what the adhesive was since i borrowed it from a buddy, but it did require a compressor and paint gun to apply it. i'll see if i can figure out the exact name of it.
