Kinda involves my car. I finally met the owner of the other turbo wagon in port angeles, same exact wagon as mine down to the colour.

Awww, i had a scene all worked out in my head. You're driving along and you see the other TW owner getting in to their car at a safeway. So you cut across three lanes of traffic, and pull up behind them, perpendicular to their car as they're trying to back out. slowly you open your door and stride over. Then, adjusting your aviators, you throw a quick deuce, making sure they notice you along side their window. Popping the collar on your leather jacket, you confidently strut back to your wagon and drive away at 40 or 50 MPH, as they sit there with a confused expression on their face. In the distance, we hear the sound of acceleration and then a blow off valve. The sun sets.

Just got my 440cc injectors back from cleaning/flow testing at Witchhunter. Flow variance was dropped from 2.8% to 0.8%, but sadly that's not anywhere close to bad enough to have been causing my drive ability issues. Oh well, at least its a major variable out of the equation.

Repaired a broken trace on an ECU circuit board that was damaged in transit to or from Rob. My eyes hurt... but now I'm officially on the Rob tune bandwagon. And I love it, even though I'm still at waste gate boost with no water in my AWIC

Got LOTS done today,
Pulled the engine out of my legacy. Got it completely torn down to the crank . Just started to spin a bearing, as far as damage to the block , it looks fine and the pistons look OK. and i have an extra crank and rods I can throw in it.
I even got the intake manifold and crossover pipe cleaned up and painted.

Put my AWIC back into service. Had the pump and water lines disconnected while I was troubleshooting my car's various issues.

Got a lot more work done today, just so happens the engine goes the day I started vacation. So I got some time to work on my busted DD.
Spent 4 hrs with chem-tank cleaning basically everything, got down N' dirty.
I picked up a honing tool, the one with stones and spring action deal, I didn't get to use it yet today but I'm hoping it cleans up the cylinder walls good.
I also tested the heads or rather the valves for any leaks by pouring some fluid onto the head chamber and blowing compressed air into the intake and exhaust ports while monitoring the fluid to see if air bubbles came out. Really the test went pretty good but I wasn't sure how much air applied would correctly simulate what's tolerable.
Anyway I decided since I'm this far in I should be doing everything I can. So I wanted clean up the valve seats, I picked up some lapping compound and rented a valve spring compressor.
I also got a complete engine gasket kit overnighted and in the mail today. The kit came with valve stem seals which I would like to do , but I'm having trouble removing the old ones. Their stuck on really good. So I skipped replacing them for now

.

I also started bleeding the lifters. Long day.

The angle grinder is a bad idea. I've had to fix tons of heads and deck blocks because of angle grinders, even with that soft yellow disk. I've seen as much as .010 taken off. Razor blade is best, it doesn't need to be shiny.

So ..your saying you have seen "tons" of piston to valve contact from using the yellow disk and taking away to much material?
I've done this before with out issue it's not even a measurable amount removed, and as always check your shit with a straight edge.

I'm saying that the flat surface is no longer flat, and I've seen HG failures specially between the cylinders where it is easy to take off more than you want to.
