So the 7 is the newer model....

K, you said you ordered this one for your new AWIC?

The 7 has about 60% more flow at the same pump head. This is assuming I'm reading the tech stuff correctly.

I'd almost like to get a little more flow.

Right. The old one was out of production and about half price, so it's the one I used on my 92.

I'm not too worried about the flow because I'm going to have a nice cooler. I would expect the newer model to be as quiet as the old one...

What cooler are you going to use? That's the other thing I need to try and find. I haven't been super successful in finding anything yet.

I'm looking at a 2nd gen RX7 oil cooler. I should have it measured up this weekend to see if it will fit well. I'm going to try to fit it like a FMIC. I'm also going to look at oil/tranny coolers.

If that doesn't look like it will fit or be big enough I'm going to cut out the bumper and fit a small radiator. VW maybe because there is one without a filler cap.

Is the stock awic water pump worthwhile?

Laurel, it's ok. However if you have the money, you can get a higher flowing pump that will reject more heat.
