I just got them.

-Stock cross-pipe 208 cfm
-CES cross-pipe 223 cfm

Up-pipe figures

-Stock up-pipe 156 cfm
-CES up-pipe 294 cfm

I also have some brochures (more leaflet sized) I can snail mail to anyone interested. It's for the WRX but it has some good dynographs and good pics. I'll throw in an MSR-USA sticker (I know, whoopee). Let me know if you want a few (not that I'd want you to help promote me for free :) I'll send them out asap.

OH, the pipe that runs across the front of the engine. Does it only fit Legacy Turbo headers?

by dubrex
It fits legacy turbo headers, wrx, and sti.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear.

Can you give be a measurement of the test/cat pipe? Be specific if its outside edge of the flange or inside edge.

ciper: No problem, I'll have those dimensions to you shortly. I'm going to grab some food, at the moment. You'll see those by (cali time) early evening. Thanks.

$1375 for the stainless steal? That's loads better than 1660. So as long as I can just take out the test-pipe and throw up a high flow cat I'm good.

Has anyone asked about where/if there is a bung already in the DP for an 02 sensor?

Posted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 3:25 am
by georryan
I talked to the guy from CES via email and the bung is in the same place as our stock dp (for the ces legacy setups). I'm assuming since dupex is selling the legacy setup that the bung will be in the same place as our stock one. It should be a drop old exhaust, bolt up new one and go.

QuickDrive: There is an O2 bung and it's in the stock location, on the downpipe. This exhaust is built specifically for the Legacy and isn't a WRX TBE rigged to fit a Legacy.

georryan: You beat me to it. Yeah, this is bolt-up afair.

I haven't done the instal myself, but the one thing that may be necessary is trimming the heatshield. This is the one thing that had to be fabricated (if you could call it that) during the swap. I used a simple hand saw and filed the jagged bits away.

Hey, hey, how's it going? It's good to see you here. :D

I like the pictures you have posted. Are those pictures going to be available on the MSR website too?

Has Trevor ever considered making full headers, instead of just the cross-pipe? some nice SS headers with the hypercoating would be sweet.

I love my system w/ the DP03 DP. Everyone who has ever riden or heard my car thinks it among, if not the nicest sounding systems they've ever heard. The sounds killer and the increased power is very obvious. I've said it a hundred times but I HIGHLY recommened these systems.

Some info on my system, the cat is Carsound and the Resonator is Super Cat.

You know though.... it's been pretty nice having the only Legacy turbo w/ a CES Racing systems TBE in the US. :D

ciper: I have those test-pipe dimensions.

OD - Flange to Flange is 16 9/32"

Flange width is 7/32"

Let me know if you need more spec.

legacy92ej22t: Thanks for the plug! I have to do something with the website... I'll include a gallery soon. Trevor has made full headers for the Legacy Turbos, but he hasn't offered them for general retail consumption. I'll see what I can do, though.

On a side note, is the seperator plate the same for both our vf11s and the tdo4 turbos? (VF11 being the stock turbo on the US legacy turbo).

georryan: the bep is the same on both the tdo4 and the vf11, for now. Legacy92ej22t fitted the WRX bep to his car to good effect. There could be a small difference in depth, though. If someone would like I can send them a slightly longer bep so that they may grind off the excess until they find the exact clearence (this is what Trevor does with custom turbo setups). All this requires is some patience and a grinding wheel.

Well, I got a CES semi-race Legacy TBE in full stainless-steel w/ up-pipe and cross-pipe and boy is it sweet!

I've seen pictures of flex pipes before but having them in person I gotta say, they're really, really cool. The O2 bung on the DP is in the perfect location and just by looking at it it looks like the hangers on the whole thing are going to be perfect too. I'm really excited to swap this system in and take out my made to fit WRX one. It has a 3" straight tip so it's pretty stealth looking too (especially compared to the 4" rolled tip on my WRX one).

I'm going to try and take lots of pictures of the install and do a write up along with it. I'm going to be replacing my rear cam seal, valve cover gaskets, turbo oil supply lines and install an Autometer Phantom series EGT too, so it should be an interesting project.

If anyone wants to see pictures I can e-mail them or if someone wants to host we can post them on here. :D

I'm working on it. My camera batteries took a crap while trying to take the pics and I didn't have any new ones. I should have them today and will get 'em up.

Wow, that looks beautiful.

dubrex - Sorry if this has already been asked (I looked but didn't find the answer), but does the downpipe bolt right up to the stock Legacy Turbo exhaust? My understanding is that the stock Legacy downpipe is several centimeters shorter than the stock WRX or STi downpipe.

And do you have any idea on pricing for a mild steel downpipe plus boost enhancement plate?

Do we have to thread the bung ourselves? I didn't see any threads in it. I guess it isn't really a big deal, I just thought I'd ask.

by vrg3
And what's the threading on the up-pipe bung? I'm assuming that's for an EGT thermocouple, right?
